New Facebook App: Ramadan Prayer Time + Greetings

While celebrating the holy month of Ramadan, a new application has been launched for Muslim community on facebook.com by Synergie Media.

This small interactive agency in Morocco has launched it’s first version of Ramadan Prayer Time facebook application that is available for thousands of cities worldwide (approximately 250.000 cities). Ramadan Times feature – offers five prayer times calculation methods so that you may be able to switch between them based on your personal preference and locality. The application is available in 4 languages: Arabic, English, French & Dutch. Also, another features is Ramadan Greetings – users can wish and greet their friends and other loved ones with elegant e-cards (selected from deviantart.com).

Ahmed Chergaoui, Creative Director at Synergie Media said: “While this application is 3 days old only, we have 674 users with 920 page views”.  Ahmed added that a second version of this application will be released to allow bigger interactivity among friends.

I encourage Muslim community on facebook to add this fb app to your profile from here (http://apps.facebook.com/ramadantime and don’t forget to spread the word around it.

  1. Tarek, thanks for the link. I’ll try it out. The challenge I face is knowing the direction of prayer when I travel. If there was an app for that, it would be the most helpful. Thanks.

  2. Hi Moushumi,

I have reviewed apple store and there is approved web app http://www.apple.com/webapps/productivity/isalawat.html I’m not sure how accurate it is and I always recommend using such prayer time app as reminder and not as sole resource.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts over here and I will let you know once anyone would do it or done it.

    Cheers,

    Tarek

  3. Cool app. My wish list though? Prayer time and Qiblah direction as mobile app. It will be so extremely convenient for people who travel a significant amount. Thanks.

  4. Hey Ahmed,
