Flip Media Takes Top Honours in Inaugural GCC Webranking Survey

Flip_media_yousef_tuqan_tuqanFlip Media, one of the largest interactive agencies in the Middle East, announced that four of its clients’ websites have been named the best in the Gulf region by independent Swedish consultancy Hallvarsson and Halvarsson’s (H&H).

The inaugural GCC Webranking Survey saw real estate giant and Flip Media client EMAAR take top position, ranking first in the survey of publicly traded companies. Abu Dhabi-based Sorouh’s website, also developed by Flip, in conjunction with Brand Union, was ranked third while another Flip client, telecom provider du came in twelfth.

The Flip developed website for Gulf Finance House was ranked as the number one corporate website in the Kingdom of Bahrain, highlighting the agency’s regional reach. Flip Media executed and led an all- encompassing digital strategy for all its’ clients honored in the survey.

H&H’s annual survey of corporate website performance showcases best in class online communication and sets the benchmark internationally for excellence in website performance. The GCC Webranking Survey marks the first time ever the Gulf region has been included in H&H’s annual survey, signaling the GCC’s increasing prominence in the global economy.

H&H reviewed and ranked eighty-five publicly listed companies in five GCC countries measured by market capitalization. Sites were assessed according to 140 criteria derived from H&H’s annual survey of business journalists, analysts and investors to identify what information and functionality they value most from a listed company’s corporate website.

According to a senior spokesperson at H&H, Flip client EMAAR won the 2009 H&H Webranking as their corporate website “best fulfils the requirements of the target groups for corporate websites and offers information that is highly requested by the capital market.”
