Google and Twitter (with the help of Saynow): let there be tweets from #Egypt

CNET has reported that Google and Twitter teamed up to provide people in Egypt a way to send out their tweets without an internet connection. As reported the country’s internet has been offline for a while now.

Users with a voice connection need to dial one of three numbers which are: +16504194196 or +390662207294 or +97316199855 and their voice messages will be converted to tweets, using the SayNow platform recently purchased by Google, with the #Egypt hash tag. This is specifically developed for the Egyptian people at the moment and there are already a great number of tweets.

So if you know anybody in Egypt who is trying to send the world an update please forward them the numbers and inform them about the service It’s already live and anyone can tweet by simply leaving a voicemail. No Internet connection is required.

People can listen to the messages by dialing the same phone numbers or going to twitter.com/speak2tweet.
