Twitter Reschedules Down-Time for Active #IranElection

Twitter played a very crucial role in Thailand riots and now it’s playing the same role in the ongoing controversy over the disputed Iran elections. Therefore, Twitter team has decided re-scheduling the hosting down-time from what was pre-scheduled for today until tomorrow dawn in Middle East time.

Since Twitter is currently playing as an important communication tool in Iran, the re-schedule to 1:30 am Tehran time on Wednesday will be very convenient to #IranEeletion and #iran hashes’ users and followers, while sacrificing the peak of tweeting at East time.

Twitter team will be risking a critical network update that must be performed to ensure continued operation of Twitter. The team commended their hosting provider, NTT America Enterprise Hosting Services, for being flexible in what is essentially an inflexible situation.
