A Twestival or Twitter-Festival is a global series of events organized by volunteers around the world under short timescales, which bring people offline for a great cause. Twestival is run 100% by volunteers and independently from any not-for-profit; Twestival Local is a Twestival event that supports local charity instead of the global organization or charity is taking place in Abu Dhabi, Amman, Beirut, Dubai amog the cities around the world : 10-13 September 2009.
In a short history about Twestival in the Middle East:
In February 2009, Amman, Beirut, Doha, and Dubai cities only joined Twestival Global in a event that fund-raisning to a global pre-set charity charity:water. These events were successful and has set initiative for other cities to start.
This Weekend Twestival in The Middle East:
Since Twestival this made a twist and local event opportunity, organizer and aimed-to-be organizer had the chance to pick-up a date on Sept between 10-13 and also select a local charity organization instead of global. I believe it was definitely helpful to promote local oragnizations who literary need help in fund-raising.
