Egyptian Blog Was Acquired By Smashing Magazine

noupe_logoNoupe.com, a stylish and dynamic news blog for designers and web-developers on all subjects of design which was designed, created, and managed by initial effort of Egyptian blogger strikes a deal with Smashing Magazine earlier this month.

I was already impressed before on how much retweets, comments, and rss subscribers this blog gets which I thought can compete Smashing Magazine, by that time I was curious to find out who was behind this blog and I was thrilled to know that an Egyptian lady blogger, Noura Yehia, was behind the blog, even I remember she was maintaining low-profile.

Noupe.com offers articles ranging from CSS, Ajax, Javascript, web design, graphics, typography, advertising & much more and it is a designers’ community blog for global audience and not specific to the region. Yet Noura now brings another success story for making blogging (e-business at large) a real business in the MENA region same as the rest of the world.

She has posted an article on Noupe.com telling how happy she is with this acquisition and how it would benefit the readers and Noupe platform as well; it seems the website was acquired alone without Noura continuous involvement and Vitaly Friedman and Sven Lennartz from Smashing Magazine will be managing the blog instead.

Noura says that the reason for this move is her personal situation: she has to take care of some issues at the moment, and doesn’t want to compromise the quality of articles on Noupe.com or let the website slowly fade away, yet she will continue blogging on her other blog DevSnippets.com, a blog for technical support for designers and web developers.
