In the lead up to the global launch of Windows 7 on October 22nd, 2009, Microsoft Jordan held a workshop at its offices for representatives from the Kingdom’s media to provide them with an introduction to Microsoft’s new operating system, and demonstrate the variety of new features that have been developed with the aim of making users lives that much simpler and easier.
The workshop was conducted by Ms. Huda Qadura, Microsoft’s IT Support Specialist, who provided a live demonstration to the media participants on the various new features that Windows 7 has to offer including the new taskbar and interface, performance improvements, new power saving capabilities, a new Windows search function, simplified networking solutions, a comprehensive media center, in addition to a wave of other new features that promise to deliver faster performance, increased reliability and enhanced security.
Huda Qaddura stated, “Windows 7 is all about simplifying your PC. Throughout the development cycle, Microsoft spoke to countless partners and customers to understand their needs and what we were told is that users want Windows 7 to help them get things done easier, more efficiently, whilst still being compatible with all the applications and devices that are most commonly used today. Windows 7 was developed based on that customer feedback and has resulted in a host of new features and innovations that will make using PCs simpler and faster, enabling users to get more done, more securely and from more locations.”
As part of its effort to ensure customers receive the right support for the adoption of Windows 7, Microsoft has provided training for all its employees in Jordan, in addition to readiness training for its Partners on Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 & Exchange Server 2010, all of which will be launched later this month. The training provided will ensure Microsoft’s partners in the Kingdom will be equipped with the necessary technical knowledge whilst supporting and working with their customers.
On November 4th Microsoft Jordan will be holding a special launch event for Windows 7 that will be attended by the Kingdom’s leading IT professionals, businesses and organizations, with the Key Note speech being delivered by Microsoft’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr Kevin Turner.
