The First Brick For Building Mobile Innovation Ecosystem in The MENA Region

qatar_science_technology_park_logoFinally mobile innovation ecosystem is taken seriously in the Middle East and North Africa, thanks to Qtel and Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) recent agreement on long term association which will combine Qtel regional footprint in 17 markets, with cutting-edge mobile technology facilities QSTP to provide.

This collaboration aims to develop relevant and localized mobile innovations in several areas, such as healthcare, education, banking and other vertical industries. Furthermore, the collaboration will also attract new talent, businesses, skills, and technologies into Qatar, positioning the country at the forefront of mobile innovation.

This initiative will give the Qtel first hand access to market and customer insights gained from regional testing of new applications. Its goal is to translate these insights into new services that will meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

Also Dr. Nasser Marafih, CEO The Qtel Group said in a statement that new services that involve real-time mobile localization are now being introduced in other regions, and he believes that The Qtel Group and QSTP can provide an excellent, innovative environment to try out ideas in this and many other areas.
