This is an interview with a Jordanian internet marketing guy, we will unleash his digital lifestyle as well as take his point of view on blogging in the Arab World.
Tarek: Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Firas: On a personal level, I was born and raised in Jordan and love anything related to technology and the Internet. I am also a full-timer at ShooFeeTV.
Tarek: And what’s your life motto?
Firas: In order to succeed you have to fail.
Tarek: Especially in the Internet field, failure is an option to success for the next time. Now, before talking about success or failure, how did the geekiness start in the first place?
Firas: It all started when I was 4-years-old and my Dad got my elder brother the Commodore 64 as his birthday gift. Typically, I couldn’t resist fidgeting with it and tried figuring out how this WEIRD machine worked and what it was used for.
Tarek: And when you grew-up, which project are you most proud of doing/ or being a part of it as a geek?
Firas: Beside my actual job, where I’m geek at all the times, I have co-founded Ideation Labs with others, which is a cyber incubator that helps and supports all people with ideas in making them come true and become actual projects. Also, I am a ProBlogger on SteitBlog.
Tarek: Mentioning SteitBlog, which I believe is a professional blog, how many articles you post per week and what is your favorite topic?
Firas: One of my 2010 goals is to have an article published everyday, but currently my publishing frequency varies from 3 – 5 articles per week. Every blogger should make sure to maintain a stable frequency of publishing so he/she can make sure their readers get used to a specific routine, otherwise you will be losing readers. I blog about Blogging, Making Money Online, Internet Marketing and Social Media but my favorite is Blogging and how to start a healthy blog, and at the moment I am also working on an e-book which will be available soon that talks about healthy blogging and covers almost ALL aspects of healthy blogging; from thinking of blogging to monetizing your blog.
Tarek: This means you are serial blogger too. Within the region, what do you think effective blogging is missing?
Firas: I have been reading about blogging and following six-figure bloggers for almost 3 years now and I really think that blogs in the region have not been taken to the next level! I am not aware of any Arab Blog that generates FULL income for its owner directly. I am not talking about funds and investments. When I say I want to take my blog to the next level, I am talking about generating a full income out of my blog, not an income that pays my bills but an income that will make blogging my full-time job! All six-figure bloggers agree that hard work, patience and knowledge are key factors to taking any blog to the next level.
Tarek: Moving to the fantasy world, what is your fantasy job?
Firas: A Full-Time ProBlogger
Tarek: And who would be your geek freak?
Firas: Darren Rowse
Tarek: and what’s your favorite geek app?
Firas: Gmail!
Tarek: where is your relaxation place?
Firas: On my living room couch at my home sweet home!
Thank you very much Firas for having us and I would like to get the chance to inform everyone to welcome you on board of interactiveME contributors’ team.
As I said and always say, the main reason behind the success of any blogger is the readers of his/her blog! I always try to get to know my readers’ needs and points of interest then work on filling the gap! Thanks for the comment as well Nicky 🙂
Cheers
Thanks for the Comment my friend! I wish we all achieve our goals in 2010 🙂
Well done Firas! You certainly know how to connect with your community which I have no doubt will be a key to your success in reaching your 6 figure goal.
Nicky @nicchick
Congrats Firas! Looks like this is a lot of opportunities in the middle eastern blogosphere. You may well be the first 6 figure blogger from Middle East!
Pierre and Pierrette, thanks for the comment as I have always been telling you, the success behind any blog is: its readers! If I don’t understand the needs of my readers and fans, I won’t be able to deliver the content you need and then all my time, blog and writings will be useless! Thanks for the comment again 🙂
Firas, great job.Congratulations for being part of interactiveMe contributors team. Your ability to understand the needs of others will make you a star wherever you go. Thank you for your patience in understanding that most of us lack the technical abilities. We need someone like you to educate us continually.

Mike, thanks for the comment! Actually I am trying to publicize myself in the Middle East, I hope it works 😉
Good to see this interview with my good friend Firas. He’s an absolute star in the world of social media, and is probably better known in Europe and America than he is in the middle east. Great guy!
