Do I have to link to Facebook homepage for you to know it? of course not. According to the Arab youth survey, visiting social networks comes the 3rd most important activity after emailing. Saudi Arabia showed unprecedented increase in the number of registrants on Facebook for the month of March according to the paid report Facebook Global Monitor.

While registration from Saudi Arabia had achieved only 5.8 percent growth in February, the report interestingly reveals for the month of March an impressive 13.4 percent growth in March. This percentage increase means 228,620 new users added to 1.7 Million Saudis on Facebook.

Egypt falls second in the amount of new users but not of the high percentage increase. Egypt had 4% percentage growth reaching nearly 130,000 new users in March. Egyptians remain the highest Arab population on Facebook.

According to the Arab youth survey which we covered before here, three quarters of the users utilize social networking websites like Facebook in order to keep connection with friends, to share and upload photos and to make new friends.
