Asuaq.com co-founder Ammar Ibrahim sits down with Shervin Pishevar and discuses how online business are viewed in the Middle East and how difficult it is to fund such startups, however he does admit that it has become somewhat easier in the past couple of recent with foreign investors and especially the purchase of Maktoob by Yahoo! last year for $160 million.

Asuaq.com is a classified listing website aiming to be the craigslist of the Middle East, with almost 300,000 unique visitors they are a long to go but they are hopeful that will change really soon.
