A bizarre story reported on allfacebook recently that claims that the a number of Facebook accounts in Tunisia have been hacked. Whats more is that the hackers were hired by the government!
In an effort to squash the protests that have been occurring in the Tunisia the government has teamed up with hackers to break into specific “trouble maker” accounts to change and delete them entirely, in some cases entire facebook pages referring to the protests have been deleted with their images.
Politics aside, hacking for peace doesn’t really make sense on both sides and the use of such tactics is very worrying especially in a region where the internet is very closely monitored making the ability to protect your information or online identity somewhat difficult.
