An interesting report published by Youngberry and ThinkMedia Labs highlights what would Arab youth love or hate about their governments presence on social media networks.

The report was conducted by surveying 309 respondents who are all Arabic speakers residing in the MENA region between the ages of 12 – 29 all of whom claim to have an active Facebook account.

Here are some of the interesting findings from the report:

  1. 42% of respondents would “Like” a government’s Facebook page only to show support.
  2. Only 26% would “Unlike” the page if the content was outdated and their wasn’t any active engagement.
  3. Only 9% would criticize the government if the situation was unbearable.

Having worked with top digital agencies and companies in the MENA region for the past number of years I'm now looking now to venture on my own with small side projects in online, SaaS products. Things I like include: gaming, sports, technology, social media, start ups, funny things and reading about new bright ideas.
